A hundred in Haltwhistle (Rousse)
RB planned to celebrate her 100th birthday with a pool party in Haltwhistle, the UK’s outdoor swimming capital. Everyone would be there, including EA from Hexham, and DE of Rhyl. On the day, I arrived wearing a long silky dress … Continue reading

A naked man and an almost naked swimmer (Rousse)
BD slipped through the door that connected his flat to ours. It was lovely to see him, but I’d rather that he’d visit clothed. He told me that he had run out of underwear and asked me if I thought … Continue reading
Kneeling toilet is a safe haven for jewellery stash (Rousse)
No wonder I kept getting lost in the hotel. Due to a booking mishap, every day TPR and I were moved from one bedroom to another. Although annoying, it would have been so much worse if the weather had been … Continue reading
The dance of the hotel spa radishes (Rousse)
There was nobody at the reception desk when I tried to check into the hotel. Having made a couple of enquiries as to their whereabouts, I found the staff lined up along the edge of the hotel playing field. They … Continue reading
Second wedding wildlife (Rousse)
The bride wore a bizarre blue patterned lawn cotton gown, as did her chief bridesmaid daughter. Two of her three sons, dressed in black suits, vied for the role of best man. This all seemed pretty pointless to me since … Continue reading
Swimwear and disgraceful tattoos (Rousse)
I chose a new swimming costume. It was navy blue with white side panels, and leg pieces. It would be perfect for British waters, and could easily be worn under a wetsuit. While I was trying it on for the … Continue reading
Ginger hotel cat is famous actress in disguise (Rousse)
While the slim, male, hotel receptionist tapped at the keyboard with his highly polished nails (deep burgundy) I marvelled at the size of the enormous ginger cat, sprawled on the floor beneath my feet. I soon learnt that this was … Continue reading
Superman brings bouquet to beleaguered wife (Rousse)
Although we loved one another very much, TPR and I found it very difficult to live together. After we sold our flat to a young couple, I continued to stay there with them, and TPR moved out. One evening I … Continue reading

Sauna strip-off rip-off (Rousse)
BV paid £7 so that he and I could sit naked together in a Turkish sauna. This was a complete waste of money. You didn’t have to pay at all if you agreed to keep your swimming costume on.
