Exploding trains in London add to landfill problems (Rousse)
London was one huge rubbish tip. When TPR and I stepped off the train the only way out of the station was up a mountain of landfill. The next day we heard that a train had exploded on arrival at … Continue reading
A lost watch in Edinburgh’s Stockbridge (Rousse)
I was struggling to quash the rumours that I was raiding public funds to finance all-expenses paid trips around the globe. In reality all my travel and associated expenses were being covered by my hosts, and not my employer. After … Continue reading

Trapped by gunmen in small town USA (Rousse)

The box thief (Rousse)
We were a little embarrassed when P and S started calling the waiters over to take food and drink orders. At this hotel it was bad form to boss the staff around like this. Later, when P and S left … Continue reading
Drug addiction contributes to project failure (Rousse)

When a stag party prank goes wrong (Rousse)
TPR and I watched a gang of drunks on a stag night throw one of their party into a communal refuse bin. Their victim didn’t move. We feared that he would still be trapped inside when the bin men came … Continue reading

Royal Botanic bathing (Rousse)
I took to spending my Sunday mornings at the Royal Botanics Gardens, Edinburgh. This was not because I was particularly fond of the plants. In fact, the gardens themselves were a bit of a mess. I noticed that some people … Continue reading
