Prize winner loses prized possession (Rousse)

I heard that the gym was giving prizes to cyclists, so I jumped on my bike and headed across town to claim one of my own. I was indeed a lucky winner. However, in my haste to pick up my … Continue reading

A dangerous driver and an impossible treasure hunt (Rousse)

I was not pleased when the driver switched seats with SPL and allowed her to drive along the narrow roads of rural Aberdeenshire. Although she held a driver’s licence, SPL rarely took the wheel of a car, and it showed. … Continue reading

A pedalling peril (Rousse)

It was very difficult riding round the city on a tandem carrying a king size duvet. Barely able to see over the handle bars, my greatest fear was that we would take out an unseen cyclist just ahead of us.

It was great to see the two cyclists again when they stepped off the ferry. I recognised the dark-haired girl first (for her beard). They replied sheepishly when I asked if they had enjoyed their time at the guest house. … Continue reading

Sarong underwear (Rousse)

I pulled my former colleague AT up the muddy bank to the gap in the wall that led to the open countryside. At first I thought that it was too small to accommodate us, but GB demonstrated that the space … Continue reading

The velvet-clad cyclist choir (Rousse)

JS and her cycling friends founded a choir. Their uniform comprised navy blue velvet dresses adorned with huge 1980s bows. Worse, however, was the ‘music’. None of choir members could sing.
