An ordinary meal turns strange (Belle)

I was trying to explain to my dining companion that the restaurant was very ‘sixth form male’, while shouting over a DJ playing a picture disc of War of the Worlds. There was a 1940s football map, a baby, a weird village on the other side of the Thames, and a false front tooth.

Working hard with a sore arm and no iPod (Belle)

I had an operation on my arm and snapped my iPod in two. Then I was very rude to someone who wanted me to survey people about their favourite Doctor Who. ‘What will that tell us’ I said ‘… apart from who is their favourite Doctor Who?’
